Daybook for January 26, 2010

For January 26, 2010

Outside my Window...The sun is shining and the temperature is brisk--my kind of weather!

I am thinking...about how much there is to do this week, and trying to find a few things that can be left undone.

From the learning rooms... I am very pleased with how consistent we've been with school in the midst of our current chaos. Some days we do just the bare minimum--Bible, reading and math. Today, however, we did everything, including some work on a fun ongoing geography project.

I am thankful for...
a warm, comfortable bed and a hot shower in the morning.

From the kitchen... I'm cooking chicken for dinner tonight, and that's about the extent of my plan.

I am wearing...my new jeans and Strawberry Reunion t-shirt. I'm barefoot but wishing I had socks on!

I am reading...Walking on Alligators, a book of meditations for writers that came yesterday from PaperbackSwap.

I am hoping...for a really fun weekend with extended family this weekend.

I am creating... opportunities for future scrapbook pages!

I am hearing... my mom helping Katie finish up her math.

Around the house.... with my mother's help, I've been cleaning, cleaning, cleaning for company this weekend.

Some of my favorite things...Will's belly laughs, Katie's smile, which is currently missing 2 teeth, Scott's smile when he gets home at night, getting something fun in the mail.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... Friday is a big day! Scott will be pinning on his new rank. I'm so excited that my parents, his parents and one of his brothers will be here to see it.

Can't tell you how excited Mike is to come visit you all. Post Will's toothless grin soon -- I'd love to see it!

You peaked my interest with the fun ongoing geography project. What's up?

Mucho congrats to Scott from us. We'll be there in spirit.
