Daybook for March 2, 2009

For March 2, 2009

Outside my Window...we got a good, thick blanket of snow last night, so thick that Scott stayed home from work and Will can barely concentrate on school for wanting to go sledding.

I am thinking...about the wonderful homeschool moms' retreat I attended on Saturday. It was nice to spend the day with old and new friends, but even nicer to get a shot in the arm to finish the year strong.

From the learning rooms... Will and I are enjoying the overview of the 50 states, and he seems to be retaining some interesting little fun facts. I love the way his brain works: he thought it was ironic that Georgia is known for producing both my favorite and least favorite things: Coca-cola and peaches.

I am thankful for...
a husband who is a family man.

From the kitchen...we had sandwiches for lunch made on baguettes that Scott made yesterday. I'm not usually a big sandwich fan, but they were really good! One of the little tasks niggling around in my head is the need for me to plan out the weeks' menus, so dinner will be whatever is on hand and quick. Sounds like pasta to me.

I am wearing...black sweats and a grey T-shirt.

I am reading... I am flipping through several books, but I am looking forward to sitting down and really reading Charlotte Mason's Putting Down Rails.

I am hoping...for a productive afternoon while Scott & Will sled and Katie recuperates. (She had some flu-like bug yesterday, but seems much better today.
)
I am creating...the life I've dreamed of. Today I'm making steps toward all of my goals.

I am hearing...Katie is watching a Strawberry Shortcake movie and Will is working quite diligently on some copywork. It would be a massive understatement to say that copywork is not his favorite, so I'm really proud that he's powering his way through it.

Around the house....My goal today is to get the clutter out of the kitchen. That will actually be a huge accomplishment, because some of it has been sitting there so long that now the assumption is that's where it belongs.

One of my favorite things....a night of really restful sleep. (I mention it mostly because it didn't happen last night. Poor Katie was so sick.)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...with all this snow, I really don't know what the week holds! Will we be able to get out tomorrow for ballet and Tae Kwon Do? Surely by Wednesday we'll be able to go to church. I think I would really benefit from a day or two completely at home, but after that cabin fever starts to get me.

Here's a picture I'm sharing with you:
This is Krypto, our sweet, patient schnoodle, dressed in Katie's Fancy Nancy getup.

Hello - saw your blog at the SWD site & was intrigued by the name of it. :-) Love your pic of Krypto - my Elliot loves watching Krypto Superdog, so I take it that's where he got his name? :-) Have a blessed week!
