Martha Stewart Doesn't Live Here. Adjust.

Katie, my sweet Kindergartener, was working on a worksheet for the letter V. The page had several pictures of things that began with the letter v that she was to identify, color and cut into flashcards. She easily recognized a vase, vegetables and a vest. But one picture had her stumped. "It's... a... Don't tell me...it's... I don't know, Mommy, what IS that?" I sighed. "It's a vacuum cleaner, honey." Just further proof I haven't quite found the right balance between homeschooling and homemaking!

Too cute! I had my kids outfitted with a mini vacuum at 2 years old! Start 'em early and then you don't have to do the work :)

Once again, you have me rolling!

Don't feel too bad though. I used to teach public school pre-k and on the Brigance testing we used for screening, there was a picture of a stove and the child was supposed to tell what the object was used for. You wouldn't believe how many of them missed it! They would just look at me like a deer in headlights and shrug their shoulders.

I started to leave a comment, saying "Don't feel bad! My DS didn't know what a stove was when he was in Kindergarten!" Then I read Mama Said's comment! Whew! I feel better now! LOL!!!
