Menu Plan Monday, week of November 19

Happy Thanksgiving! Foodies all over the country are gearing up for the big endurance event this week, both in terms of cooking and eating. Good luck to everybody , on both fronts :)

Monday--Chicken Parmesan with pasta

Tuesday--Oooooh, this is a big night! Our church is having a special Thanksgiving service with baptism and communion, and Will is one of the ones who will be baptized. Who can think of dinner on a night like this? I think we will be eating out.

Wednesday--Taco soup

Thursday--Happy Thanksgiving! There's a story behind everything we eat, and leaving out any of these dishes would be devastating to one or more people in my family. We're having strawberry jello (a must-have tradition in my family), cranberry Waldorf salad (a must-have in Scott's family), "orange mashed potatoes" (Will's name for sweet potato casserole), squash casserole (a new addition from my sister within the last five years or so. One of Scott's favorites), ham, chicken and dressing (no turkey? no turkey. But our family dressing is heaven on a fork. After living in Albuquerque, I started adding green chile, which utterly hairlips my mama, so she gets a separate little non-chile, extra-broth-to-make-it-soupy dish of dressing all to herself. We're also having homemade rolls. Am I forgetting anything? Ohh, desserts!! Pecan pie and coconut pie. When I have more time later today, I will come back and share some rock-your-world recipes for this stuff.

Friday--Leftovers, are you kidding me?

Saturday--Probably out to eat or maybe something hammy. Any suggestions on that?

A special thanks to Laura at I'm An Organizing Junkie for keeping me and 100+ mamas (so far) organized with Meal Plan Monday this week!

I love your squash casserole. I hope you'll make it at Christmas. I asked Mike if he wanted me to make the Waldorf Salad, and he wasn't all that excited about it.

Are you having family over?

I forgot to say Congratulations to Will on his upcoming baptism. I'm sure it will be a very special day.
