Two children, a boy and a girl. Now that they're eight and six, life seems to be settling down to a manageable level of chaos. Still, I often think that one or even two more little lambs would be quite nice. We've just returned from a glorious vacation at my sister's and being with her brand new baby boy has sent me into full-fledged baby lust.
Having been raised in a family of six children, Scott assures me that I have a romanticized notion of what mothering four children would be like. Deep down I know he's right. An Aebi gathering with all the siblings, spouses and kids is utter madness, but I love it anyway. I love it because it's a rarity for us to be with family, and in the midst of an Aebi gathering, there is absolutely no question that we're surrounded by family.
Maybe it's just the way it's supposed to be. Will and Katie have both--an abundance of cousins and the intimacy of our immediate family. Yes, let's go with that. Two children, a boy and a girl. Just what I needed.

Three pushed me over the edge (even though I love each of them so much) but it is crazy. I know you need your even numbers, so two more? Wow! Secretly I wish you could. I love it when family has babies. Especially because we're done.

Four isn't a bad number! I'd like to have 5 or 6, but I don't think my body -- or my budget could take it. Oh well!!! Just never say never because you never know :)
