The Simple Woman's Daybook (Aug 25)

The Simple Woman's Daybook is hosted by Peggy at her blog The Simple Woman. Stop by and see how other participants are starting their week!

For Today...

Outside my Window...summer is really winding down. It was only 73 degrees as we ran our errands this morning.

I am thinking...that my week "should" be busier than my planner is showing. I have an unsettled feeling that I've forgotten to write some things down.

From the learning rooms...I went through our new curriculum over the weekend (cannot WAIT to get started!) and this morning we picked up the last of our supplies.

I am thankful for...flexibility in our schedule! Scott came home on Friday wanting to go to Oregon. Okay? Okay! We head out Saturday. Will and Katie are over the moon with anticipation.

From the kitchen...we had a lovely, healthy breakfast to get the week off to a good start. No idea what we'll be having for lunch yet, but dinner is going to be garlic pork chops, rice and egg rolls.

I am wearing...my favorite navy skirt and (it is Monday, after all!) a red top. I kicked off my sandals as soon as we got home, but I think I need to either grab some socks or adjust the ac.

I am reading...Real Learning: Education in the Heart of the Home, Bonnie's Household Organizer: The Essential Guide for Getting Control of Your Home, the Feel-Good Diet (which so far, does in fact, feel good) and Love as a Way of Life: Seven Keys to Transforming Every Aspect of Your Life. I was too excited about all of these to choose just one to start with.

I am hoping
... for a peaceful evening tonight.

I am creating...several cards today for friends and loved ones. Maybe a scrapbook page, too.

I am hearing...a little Chris Tomlin in the background.

Around the house...things are in pretty good shape. I would like to get the floors clean today.

One of my favorite things...laughing together with a friend.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Tae Kwon Do, a meeting to discuss a writing class and getting ready for our trip. Should be a fairly sane week.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

"I have an unsettled feeling that I've forgotten to write some things down." - Sounds like the story of my life! :-)

I love flexible schedules, too. Sometimes life lessons are the best.

What is it with clean floors? I always feel better when I've mopped my home. :O) Nice to meet up with you via the Simple Woman's Daybook.

I wish I had your cool temps, we're dealing w/temps that barely crack 60 so 73* would be heaven. =)

Sounds like a very nice week indeed that you have planned. Hope the trip to Oregon goes well, haven't been down there in years.

HI, Wendy! I found you via the Simple Woman blog and I enjoyed reading your entries. We were just in Oregon 2 weeks ago and had a great time. The ocean beaches were beautiful and the fruit was so delicious. Be sure to try some marionberry jam and any desserts that you can find with it. Oh, and the shopping was very good too (especially for us Canadians!). Travel safely!

Thanks for your vote on my planner poll. :) You aren't a hypocrite...I feel the SAME WAY. I know I should make the jump, but I don't want to either!

So far the Monarch is winning - which is good, it is the only way I'll make the change. Ha!

Eleven comments -- wow! I'm number 12.

Just wanted to say...we're over the moon too! Can't wait!

Also, I made Mike PROMISE that we would all sit down when you and Brad are here and actually plan out the week's activities, rather than them throwing things in and out left and right, having no idea what is going on. It drives me insane every time.

See you soon!
