Simple Woman's Daybook

For September 29, 2008...

Outside my Window...it is a cloudy day, but some sun is starting to break through.

I am thinking...how very happy it makes me that Will and Katie get excited over a pile of library books.

From the learning rooms...we're really kicking into high gear. I feel like I finally have my feet under me on what needs to happen and when.

I am thankful for...a husband who folds laundry while he watches football.

From the kitchen...we're having flank steak for dinner with salad and baked potatoes. I desperately need to go through the freezer and put together a thorough grocery list before we go to the commissary on Wednesday.

I am wearing...black shorts and a red and white t-shirt.

I am reading... I am still trying to get into The Shack which is supposed to be mind-blowingly wonderful. I'm just not feeling it yet.

I am hoping...Katie will continue to sleep well this week.

I am creating...holiday cards for Operation Quiet Comfort.

I am hearing...Will and Katie turning the pages of books. That's bliss for me.

Around the house...I'll call it a very productive day if when I finish a post-weekend pickup, a load of laundry and an inventory of what's still in the freezer.

One of my favorite things...is getting a letter from a friend in the mail.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...It's actually a quiet week in the Button Factory. We only have our typical swimming lessons, ballet lessons, Tae Kwon Do, creative writing workshop and church activities. I had toyed with the idea of going to a pumpkin patch, but I think I'll put that off a week or two.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

This is me and my sister-in-law Mama Nirvana on our way to lunch at Gerry Frank's Konditorei.
Picture it: two moms, alone (except for 4-month-old Sam, who is the most easy-going baby I've ever seen. Ever.), eating quiche and cake, and talking and laughing. Heaven, heaven, heaven.

Please remember to go to The Simple Woman to see more Daybook entries.

I wonder how I can get my husband to fold laundry while he watches t.v. Thanks for sharing.

Mine folds while he lets the kids play in the bath (he can see them while he folds). Isn't it wonderful?? I love getting letters, too. Doesn't happen very often, does it?

What is operation quiet comfort?

Strawberries are my all time most favorite food in the whole wide world, ever, ever, ever. It's almost strawberry planting season down here in Florida.

Blessings.

You made me hungry for cake -- which isn't too difficult to do, but you did. What a fun day we had (and a fun week!) So glad we got to visit.

Sam misses you.
