I hope you didn't think I was going to tackle the ultimate sticky parenting topic! I'm crazy, but not that crazy!!

No, this is about Katie's latest little quirk. When she's happy with me, she writes me little love notes: a big heart and then sometimes some random letters. (I just love this "What did I write?" phase.) But when she's not happy with me, she will find a previously-bestowed love letter, cross out the heart and give it to me. When she's really mad, she'll add, in a stern voice, "Your vacation is CANCELED."

It's an interesting thing to watch her figuring this out and communicating it in a controlled way. For a while there, I thought this day would never come.
